This is an episode of Alan Becker's series called Animation vs. Minecraft. I have often felt that Purple and his story is another side of the coin for Jax's story. I know that the overlap between these two communities (despite being probably the two most popular independent animations ever made on yotuube) is probably limited. However, I really think Purple is so much like Jax.

1. Purple betrays his fellow stick figures multiple times, disregarding their feelings and agency, all in an attempt to impress his idea of a father figure. Though this episode does leave it somewhat vague, I think the Dark Blue figure (his father) isn't even around (we never see him in any other episode other than back story episodes) which means he was only betraying the others over an idea, and not the reality of approval in real time. However, later Purple lateches onto King Orange (who is the primary villain of this season) again seeing him as a pseudo father figure he wants to get the approval of.

None of this may seem DIRECTLY related to Jax, but I think it is clear that Purple also didn't meet the standards of masculinity his father set for him. Much like Jax, Purple is trying to overcompensate for not meeting what society expects of him.

2. Purple calls himself evil in this episode, pretty directly similar to how Jax calls herself evil and unworthy of love. Both characters have made bad decisions that hurt others, and they are running away from what they have done. They don't want to face what they did, or the decisions they made.

3. Green, like Pomni, wants to help Purple. He chases him because he cares and he wants to understand why Purple did what he did. Green, like Pomni, is there trying to support even though Purple repeatedly rejects/betrays Green.

4. Green offers a lot of the same things Pomni offered to Jax. Community. Depending on each other instead of doing it alone. Caring about others is the way to happiness/self love (or part of it at least).

Finally, I thin the different endings is a flip of the coin. Reallly. Many folks do fall apart like Jax did. Many do commit suicide, or they choose to reject everyone (and live a very angry, unhappy life). But others, like Purple make the decision to embrace others and try to forgive themselves for what they did. Purple goes on to join the other stick figures fighting King Orange and concluding the arc of this season. He tries to b good.

Another note, in a recent episode, Green gets in trouble and Purple quickly tries to help/protect/save Green. Just a reminder of the fact that due to Green's love, Purple eventually became a loving/helpful ally.

Also, really final note - A lot of people read Purple as "female" in teh community, and I can't help but notice many trans women specifically posting images of Purple as a trans woman. It shows yet again, how even in a show where the character is never in fact called anything but a boy (and the creator uses he/him pronouns fro him), that trans women (and even non trans folks) can see the inherent feminity in a character like Purple and Jax. I personally do read Purple as a trans woman, if only because I've seen so many trans fans of the show relating to Purple. However, myself as a Nonbinary person, I also relate to Purple's story.

Anyways, that's all. This was pretty random, not sure anyone wants to read this in this community, lol.
