Calling Out - Anything Required?

Hi, I've started working here 2 months ago. I have called out before, but it was when I was training and they didn't even have me scheduled (oops). I get driven to work by my parents because I don't have a car. Today they told me they want to watch football. Already checked beforehand that it's nowhere near my state. I'm nervous they'll require documentation if I call out. I plan to do so about 11 hours in advance (I work 3rd, so it'd be probably weird if I call out earlier than that.) Does Waffle House require documentation? Will I get written up if I can't provide anything.

I have no idea if this matters but I also lowkey cried during my shift yesterday/today because of the grill ops stressing me out. Would that possibly be used against me?
