am i the only one who finds this weird?

has anyone else noticed that a TON of series have a "hypnosis episode"

like- not just a single scene, but an entire episode where the plot is driven by a hypnosis show, or a one off hypnosis themed villain, or one of the characters getting hypnotized for one reason or another

to be clear, i'm not being judgy, at the end of the day it doesn't really matter, but like- i've even seen it in shows where there's no real reason to have that kind of episode (a lot of sitcoms have an episode like that, and i've noticed it's also pretty common in basically any animated or action show), i wonder if there's a reason for it beyond "hypnosis is a unique inciting incident", it definitely made me think stuff like hypnosis shows were a lot more common when i was younger, lol
