i'm a singer songwriter and I paid a producer (that I've been working with for four years,) to write two songs for my EP. What he delivered makes me think that it's likely to be AI generated.
I'm an independent recording artist and I may have been scammed by a long time producer.
Earlier this year I paid my then longtime producer to write a few songs for an EP that I was working on at the time.
I paid a total of $550.00 for these two songs, the first called wait, on March 27, 2026 ($400,) and the second called neon found you ($150,) on April 19, 2026. Wait is a big pop ballad that was pitched as a solid EP track and neon found you, a big dramatic pop/edm song, was pitched as my breakout single to be dropped in summer 2026 to contrast with my debut single dropped in March, an emotional acoustic ballad.
I almost immediately noticed strange stem artifacts, strange, whispery for lack of a better term frequencies in the vocals, what sounds like bad stem separation artifacts, and really bad MIDI.
At the time I was still under the impression that AI music wasn't *there* yet. The producer swears that he didn't use AI but he kept changing his story and explanation for why I picked up on these problems with the audio.
I may have been wrong.
Here are the two songs.
Are these AI? My engineer and vocal producer seem to think so.
Was this made with suno?
