When to start with physiotherapy?

Diagnosis Journey

I was diagnosed with cerebellar ataxia due to brain cancer at the age of 11. So I was young, and my parents managed all and made the decision to let me rest after this hard operation.

After ca. 4 weeks a therapist, employed by the hospital, saw me and came in the same day to train me. Without the knowledge of my parents.

I don't want to say that my parents disagree with that. They just saw my weak body after a long operation of ca. 10 hours. They had the target of letting me rest and not make instant training. Probably because they (fortunately) don't know the world of such a tough operation like I have done.

Long story short. Do you think that 4 weeks are too long to rest, or could it have been more?
