Lutheran Mission Australia and LCMS in Formal Pulpit Fellowship
As per the LM-A:
On Saturday 29 August 2026, the LM-A Synodical Assembly unanimously voted in support of the motion to recognise altar-and-pulpit fellowship with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
Right now I'm thankful for Lutheran unity, but also feeling a bit sad too.
I'm part of Lutheran Church of Australia (the larger body LM-A broke away from over women's ordination) and would say I 100% agree with LM-A/LCMS on the issue of ordination.
The problem is it's roughly a 2 hour drive (each way) to the closest LM-A, and at present I have someone who gives me a lift to my current LCA church (as I can't drive).
I love my current community, they and the pastor have been super welcoming and supportive and I love the sermons, but I don't personally agree with women's ordination.
Any advice for trying to navigate this internal tension.
