So I like making art, I like creating. But the issue with that is that it's 2026, every idea has been done in some capacity. I hate feeling unoriginal. I hate feeling like everything I make is just some cheap knock off version of something else.

It's like there's a voice in my head, telling me that nothing I can do will ever be unique or special. That's the quickest and most simplified way I have to explain that feeling.

2 days ago, I was talking with my therapist. I was telling her about this feeling, about how hard it is to like anything I try to make. She asked me what I would name this voice. Immediately, something stood out to me in my head. Hate.

This feeling, this voice, it makes me hate everything I draw. Everything I craft in any way. It makes me stare at the things I have made, and hate them with a passion.

Hate tells me my art is unoriginal. He tells me it looks awful. He tells me everyone around me is doing better than me. He tells me that I'll never be as good as them. Hate wants me to hate.

Hate, is a convincing liar. If you struggle with any of these things, don't make the same mistakes I did. Don't listen to him. Hate isn't trying to make you better. He's trying to make you give up.

Art by me.
