🪵 Movement in Carving/Turning?

Wood turning and carving seem to totally ignore the typical concerns about shrinkage in drying and seasonal movement. Am I missing something? I’m pretty sure I am. What’s stopping a wet turned bowl splitting the same way a table might? What’s stopping my branch-that-is-now-a-baluster from warping? And all the combinations
