Seeing my son this happy made my day
My son and I woke up early and went into town. His school opened about a week ago, and because we hadn't managed to get him black school shoes yet, he'd been going to school in his sports shoes. Today, I finally managed to get him a proper pair of black shoes. I also ordered some new uniforms for him because his old ones are starting to get worn out.
He was so excited and seeing how happy he was made my whole day.Afterwards, I took him to a hotel and we had some sausages and fries together. He really enjoyed himself. We came back home, and he's been in such a good mood ever since. As a dad, sometimes it's the simple things that hit differently. Being able to buy your child something they need, take them out for a little treat, and see them genuinely happy... that's a really good feeling.
I've also been thinking lately about starting something in the future to help kids who don't have proper school shoes. I don't have anything figured out yet, but I'd love to eventually find a way to help a few children get the things they need for school.
For today, though, I'm just grateful I could do this for my boy.
