Hello, I’m 19, and I grew up playing Pizza Tower. I often think about that original era and how meaningful it was to me—playing through the levels, controlling Peppino, finding secrets, collecting toppings, chasing high scores, listening to the music, and discovering all the weird and funny things hidden throughout the game.

When I play it now, the game is still there, but the feeling is different. The people who were around during the original hype have moved on, the community has changed, new updates and content have come and gone, and I’ve grown up too. Back then, I never really imagined that something I loved so much would eventually become something I looked back on as part of the past.

It makes me wonder why games like Pizza Tower can’t stay exactly the same forever, with the same levels, characters, enemies, secrets, music, mechanics, community, atmosphere, and feeling they had during that original era. Why do games and their communities change over time? Why does the excitement eventually fade and turn into nostalgia? Sometimes I wish that original Pizza Tower era could have just stayed the same.

Maybe that’s what makes Pizza Tower so special to me. It didn’t have to stay in its original era forever for its impact to last. When I go back and play it, I’m not only remembering the levels, music, secrets, and chaotic gameplay. I’m remembering who I was when I first played it and what it felt like to experience the game back then.

The original era may be over, but it hasn’t disappeared. It still exists in the game itself, the music, fan art, videos, memes, speedruns, and memories of everyone who experienced it. I can’t go back and discover Pizza Tower for the first time again, but I can still appreciate what that era meant to me.

I just don’t get why it had to change and move on. I know games and communities can’t stay exactly the same forever, but sometimes I wish the original Pizza Tower era could have lasted a little longer. Does anyone else feel nostalgic for the original Pizza Tower era, and why do you think that era eventually had to move on?

Why did the Pizza Tower game era have to end?? Genuinely miss it so much!!
