Lack of responsiveness during buying/leasing experience

Question / Advice

I've had a pretty mixed experience with trying to lease a Gravity so far. I think it offers insight into some reasons why Lucid is struggling due to how they operate.

The sales experience has been pretty subpar. When I visited the Lucid Studio experience was no problem. Super helpful, responsive individuals. Not pushy, a great experience.

The real issue is the actual purchasing experience once you've put in the deposit. First you have to put a deposit down to even get access to someone that will discuss numbers and see which unadvertised incentives may exist. Fine, it is refundable and shows you're serious. Within seconds I get a call from a sales associate based in Arizona that is assigned to me. Great! I'm thinking.

Initially, very responsive, but I get a barrage of links about going for possible cars that are not the one that I put the deposit on and not even a similar trim or configuration (Grand Touring when I put a deposit on a Touring, random configurations seemingly). After saying no to those other cars, the associate goes AWOL. Takes forever to respond to questions, difficult to get in touch with.

I then approve the lease for the car that I put the deposit on and then just silence (just hit the approve button online). No real information about the next steps other than to wait for someone from Lucid financial to send final agreement, no expectations for the timeline for the next steps. Just absolute silence for two days despite calls, emails, text. I get it, I'll be proactive and reach out to the national sales number or the studio but I'm literally trying to give them my money.

Pretty crazy for trying to get into a $100k+ car with a direct to consumer model. I mean I guess this is still better than trying to get scammed at a conventional dealership but quite odd the lack of responsiveness and need for the buyer to be proactive as well as the constant attempts to divert my interest into cars beyond the one I put a deposit on.

Anyone else have an experience like this? They definitely have room to more efficiently operate their sales, and for a company that is trying to sell as many cars as possible, I can see why they're struggling if this is the process many people experience.
