**Munna update — surgery, vaccinations, neutering, and what should happen next?**

Hi everyone, I wanted to give an update on Munna and also ask for some advice about what would be best for him going forward.

For anyone who has been following Munna’s story, he was in a pretty bad condition when I found him, including serious problems with his jaw and right eye. I’ve now taken him through the treatment the vet recommended, and thankfully there is some very good news.

**1. His jaw does NOT need surgery**

This was probably the biggest relief.

The vet examined his jaw and determined that surgery is not necessary. His jaw joint is not perfectly aligned in the way it normally should be, but it has joined in a way that allows Munna to use his jaw.

So although his jaw isn't anatomically perfect, it is functional, and surgery would not be necessary at this point.

**2. His right eye had to be removed**

Unfortunately, his right eye could not be saved.

The eye was badly damaged, and there was repeated accumulation of water, dirt and pus around it. The vet recommended removing the eye rather than allowing the problem to continue.

The surgery has now been done. The vet said the stitches should heal in around **3–4 days**, assuming everything continues normally.

Munna is already adapting, and I'm hoping that once the wound has completely healed, this will be one less source of pain and infection for him.

**3. Vaccinations and deworming**

Munna has also now been given:

* Rabies vaccination
* His other recommended vaccination
* Deworming medication

I'll keep his medical/vaccination records with him so they can go to whoever eventually takes responsibility for him.

**4. He has also been neutered**

Munna has now been neutered as well.

So, medically, we are getting him into a much better place than where he started.

# What should happen to Munna next?

This is the part where I honestly need some advice from people who have more experience with cats and rescue animals than I do.

I am currently looking after Munna, and **I will keep him with me until his eye has healed properly.** I don't want to move him around while he is still recovering from surgery.

But I'm not sure that I am the right long-term home for him.

My current work situation makes it difficult for me to give him the time and attention that I think a cat like Munna may need. I also want to be honest that I don't have much experience with cat behaviour or long-term cat care.

I don't want to make a decision based simply on what is convenient for me. I want to make the decision that gives Munna the best chance of having a safe and stable life.

So I'm wondering what people here would recommend:

**Should I try to find an experienced adopter for Munna?**
**Should I approach a reputable rescue/foster organisation?**
**Would a shelter be appropriate for him, given his previous injuries and the fact that he now has one eye?**
**Or would it be better to continue fostering him while looking for the right permanent home?**

I would particularly appreciate advice from people who have experience with rescued or disabled cats.

Munna has already been through enough. My main priority now is making sure that wherever he goes next is somewhere safe, stable and genuinely able to care for him.

For now, he is staying with me while his eye heals. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has followed his story and helped me understand what he needed along the way.
