When would you say that the fear first died down?
I was only 2 years old when 9/11 happened and I have no conscious memories of it, though I do remember my family explaining it to me. It wasn’t something that I thought about 24/7, it was just sort of this thing that existed in the back of my mind that as this bad thing that happened before I could remember. Understandably people were scared when it happened, and for the time soon afterwards, but for those of you who remember when would you say people generally moved on to other things and got on with their lives? Obviously it didn’t fully go away but I’m sure there’s some who took the attitude of “if we live in fear then the terrorists win!”
