Still in shock
I've been working at a toy store for a little over a month now. It's been going quite well and my manager is happy to have me in the team. Today i worked my shift and everything was going fine, it was a Sunday so it's usually quite busy in the store which means i sometimes get called over to open a new cash register to help with the busy waves.
A family of four comes to my register to check out, i notice one of the kids is quite annoyed and frustrated with his parents. I'm assuming he didn't get what he wanted which usually is the case. Working at a toy store I've experienced tantrums from kids so at first i thought it was nothing i couldn't handle.
I scan the items they wanted to buy and yup..
The irritated 6 year old spits RIGHT IN MY FACE. The parents didn't seem to notice.. While still being in shock and obviously caught off guard with disgust, i tell the parents, 'Your child just spat in my face.'. I was fully convinced they would tell me to break off the payment and leave the store with nothing since his actions didn't really deserve a Mario Kart Hotwheels along with a few other items. But no. The only thing he got was 'That's naughty (name)! You can't do that.'.
After they paid and left, I instantly called a coworker with me to takeover my register so i could rinse my face.
Looking back, i keep thinking about the items i scanned and if i scanned everything or if it was some kind of distraction method from the parents ðŸ˜
