Any Claude users got any advice? He takes so long to spike.

I main Beatrix & Granger so usually after fury hammer I'm able to activate right away and rotate fast if needed. With Claude I'm waiting for 3 core items before i am able to deal any meangingful damage. How do pro players usually play him? Just farm up until that point? It takes so frickin long.
