i want to learn to skateboard but i’m convinced i’m going to get seriously injured (death, tbi, etc.)

Support/advice (no reassurance)

this is definitely just a beginner thing for any “scarier” sports but i feel like my ocd makes it much worse. i’ve always had ocd about getting hurt super bad and it’s definitely got much worse over the last couple months. i played ice hockey for a while as a kid and i’m starting to get back into it, but i didn’t enjoy myself once i got to bodychecking because i was scared of having a traumatic brain injury. i also skateboarded as a kid but never got far into tricks because i was afraid of getting injured. of course i had protective gear, helmet, pads, when i played hockey i always wore my neck guard even to practice before it was required in america, etc. but i’m just having a hard time accepting the risk even when i really badly want to do it. i ice skated without a helmet often, even rollerbladed in my driveway (which was pretty dumb) and i never hit my head then so i don’t really know why its been super latched onto this skateboarding thing. any advice? :(
