I was raped 6 months ago is it possible that it wasn't traumatizing?
First of all English isn't my first language so I apologize for any mistakes I might make.
I'm 19 and in February of this year I'd been struggling with a drinking problem and ended up leaving my apartment on my own in the middle of the night. At some point I got in a taxi, I don't remember exactly how everything went down because I was blacked out for most of it but I remember enough to know he raped me. My roommate opened the door for me (I'd left my keys home) and I have no recollection of this but according to her I was a mess and wouldn't tell her what had happened.
I struggled with it the first few days but I think I came to terms with it pretty quickly. I know it's an unusual scenario and I'm always much more likely to be assaulted by someone in my inner circle + I'm never that drunk alone so I'm not scared to be outside at night. I still go out with my friends and I don't think my views on men have changed.
I'll admit I haven't gotten an STI test yet because I've never been to a gynecologist and the thought of it makes me extremely uncomfortable. Pregnancy is out of the picture by now since it was 6 months ago. I'm almost certain he used protection anyways.
I haven't had sex since which is in line with my sex life prior to that night. I haven't been actively avoiding it either but I don't usually sleep around much and I'm obviously single at the moment.
So I guess I just want to know if it's possible that that happened to me but it wasn't traumatic or if I'm in some sort of limbo state waiting for the other shoe to drop. If you read this, thank you :)
