I made a thing that shows you three versions of your message before you hit send
It's a Chrome extension called Unvent. You write your message anywhere on the web (Gmail, Slack, LinkedIn, a support form), press Ctrl+Shift+U, and it shows you the same message written three ways side by side: Polished, Direct, Warm. Pick one and it drops straight back into the box you were typing in.
I built it because I kept writing an email, reading it back, deciding it sounded colder than I meant it, and rewriting the whole thing from scratch. Now I get to see the warmer version instead of guessing at it.
A couple of details I care about: your email signature survives the rewrite, and drafts are never stored or logged (there are tests that fail if that ever stops being true). There's also a dictation mode for when a thought is too tangled to type, and the speech part runs on your own machine.
Free to use: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/unvent/dhonpmgedingifdgnjjajhmbcgjfddbn
I'm the person who built it, so ask me anything. I'd rather hear what feels wrong than what feels good.
