Coming back after 10+ years, pads/helmet/proection for flat? [31YO]

What's up guys, glad this a thread exists cause that's exactly who I am now (shoutout to those 40+, 50+ chads still going at it, respect!). Decided I'm going to get back out there after completely skipping skating for years, I know I certainly won't have the same commitment to landing tricks as I once did and to be honest I don't know if I know how to fall properly anymore.

I don't intend to go the skatepark, at least not until I remember how to do a few tricks, I'll probably just go to the basketball court near me and see how much of the muscle memory is still there.

I don't care landing a couple tricks on my ass, I think I'll be fine with that but I guess the only reservation I have is falling on my back and hitting my head in a weird way. I don't know why this is such a fear today when 15 years ago it didn't even cross my mind once. Anyway, do you think I'm overthinking it a bit? I'm probably going to get full pads/helmet for the first few sessions and feel it out but wondering what are you guys doing in regards pads/helmet/falls/prevention/etc.

Skate or die (Or "Skate and not die" LOL)
