My husband just lectured my kids about parents dying

I (42F) had a long day and have a rough few weeks at work do I asked H (43M) if he cared if I went to bed early (before bedtime at 9:30).

I just overheard H lecture my 6, 8 and 10 year olds about how they need to take care of themselves and remember to brush their teeth - but with the extra context of parents wont always be there to remind them because his parents are dead.

I obviously intervened and tucked in and comforted my kids, but H is now butthurt I “intervened” and “superseded” his patenting:

I don’t even know who this man is that I married.
