Accidentally bought scented litter - what to do with it?

Didn't notice the tiny text that said scented when I bought the containers, and I can't return them. I tried mixing the scented and unscented litter together to dilute it, but my cat started peeing right next to the box instead of in it, so that's no longer an option. (not asking for advice on the peeing, just getting rid of litter). I'd hate to throw away ~20lbs of clean litter. the only two ideas i can come up with are to donate it or keep in the car in case of ice, but i don't think shelters want scented litter either, and i no longer live in an area that gets bad snowstorms.
