How to manage a mixed race relationship in a primarily Caucasian area? I'm [40F] white, he's [34M] black

I live in a mid-size northern Midwest town. We're like less than 1% black. My boyfriend was a trucker, but had a bad accident about two years ago and has not been driving since. He has lived all over the country and was living in my town when we met, although had only been here for less than 6 months.

Our most frequent fight is about there not being any other people that look like him here and wanting to move to an area with a more mixed demographic. He has previously been a self employed music producer, and cannot find any clients in this area. I am self employed (insurance broker) and have built up a clientele here. I understand his desire to live somewhere with a more mixed population, but my income would drop to nothing if I moved. He wants me to trust in him making money with music production, but we weren't together when he's done that so I have no idea what real numbers would actually look like, or the time it would take to build that up. I want him to feel comfortable, but we currently have 0 savings and I don't want to start my business over. Moving at all just isn't possible until I have more savings, and moving more than about 3 hours away would really mess up my business. What should I do to help him feel more comfortable and that I do respect his feelings, without giving up everything and being a passenger in a truck with him just getting a trucking job?

TLDR: my boyfriend is black and is not comfortable living in the primarily white city where we live. But we don't have the funds to move as well as I would lose my clients if we moved. What should I do?
