This creator keeps showing up on my FYP. At first glance, you might think, “Oh, a father who loves his son so much.” But the more you see, the more disturbing it becomes.
According to the information that has been shared about River’s condition, he has been in a vegetative state since a drowning incident at 14 months old. He is now 9. This is not locked-in syndrome; he is believed to be unaware of his surroundings and of the fact that he is alive.
What really bothers me is how his father appears to present River’s natural reflexes and involuntary movements as intentional actions. When River’s throat fills with saliva and he needs to be suctioned, for example, his father presents the sounds as though he’s making them intentionally or “purring,” when in reality he is struggling with his secretions. There are also videos where his father holds River up and kicks his legs to make it appear as though River is walking.
I obviously can’t know what is happening behind the scenes or what his father’s intentions are, but there are so many red flags that make me deeply uncomfortable. It increasingly feels like River’s condition and body are being used for attention, views, and money. Something is very wrong with the father, he also looks to me like he is high af in many of his recent videos.
