Monitor turns on for a few seconds, then fades away reddishly to black

Hi all, my monitor was working fine hooked up to a laptop for the past few days recently. However, when I tried turning it on today, it has this effect where it works fine for a few seconds, glitches out, and then fades to black?

Cool effects aside, I can rule out the GPU not working since my laptop displays perfectly fine to its own display. I will be testing out with a new HDMI cable soon, as well as plugging it into another device/computer.

Anyone has any solutions/insights?
