Help Me Find This Song That I Heard in the 90s but Never Found Again

This song has been in my brain for way longer than I’d like to admit. I know I saw it performed a long time ago. Can’t remember by who, but I know I’m not hallucinating it. It’s a slower tempo, has a haunting quality to it, possibly R&B-ish?
