Toni Morrison's prose makes me want to pull my hair out
When I first picked up Beloved by Toni Morrison, I couldn't get past the first 20 or so pages--the prose was incredibly foreign to me, it almost seemed broken in the way it was written. I know it's probably a skill issue tbh, but I can't help but just vent at the frustration I feel when this author shows up repeatedly in my required reading. First it's Beloved, now I'm required to read A Mercy. When will I escape her shadow?
Maybe I'm looking at this all wrong. Am I just not giving it a chance? Is my attention span fried? Thoughts?
