Hopium Responsibly
About the files found today, I know there is some hopium and some doomposting about, so I am hoping this might (potentially) help? I am just running on fumes trying to keep things together
I asked a friend who works in game dev (Unity) about what adding and removing Valko's files could mean, and here's as simple as he could explain:
"It could break the game depending on how it's done. Unity packages things as long as it has a reference to it in the scene. Chances are they may have just randomly had a reference to him somewhere in the files and removing it does more damage than removing something else. When you're working on a super strict schedule, you can't just press the delete button on all Valko stuff because that would 100% break everything and their entire update schedule. So they'd be more careful about it. They'd still have references to him and his model in places and that's why it would get packaged in. Leaving a loose reference like that, while isn't ideal, is much better than breaking the entire thing."
So the fact that Valko's files are still being packaged into updates? It could just be that removing him entirely would break the game and delay their entire update schedule. Or it could mean they're still working on him. We don't know
Either way, keep boycotting. Keep fighting. Keep showing up. Valko's files are still in the game, and that's not nothing 💖
