Post-Laser Eye Surgery

My ex-22 weeker had eye surgery about 3 weeks ago for ROP. I know one of the side effects is a lazy eye, among others. We suspect he may have developed a subtle lazy eye, but it only tends to happen after waking up/getting sleepy.

Has anyone experienced a lazy eye after laser surgery, and if so, how long after the surgery did you notice it? Is it something correctable over time?
