how to deal with bullying/isolation/exclusionary culture growing in a program?

does anyone have advice on how to make it more tolerable or otherwise deal with it, especially for small cohorts and small town settings?

i am dreading going back to class tomorrow/next week, and i appreciate anything you think would make it easier. i don't need to be everyone's bestie for life, but i want to be able to make the most of my time in school, without fear.

(i am not the "typical" demographic of this field in many ways, and that has made me a target. i am somehow friendly with almost everyone i know at school, except my own grad cohort. the coldness and rudeness is gradually getting worse, and i am scared.)
