Should long-form Youtubers try Shorts

So I'm a extremely small YouTuber, 5 subs, 30 view avg on 4 videos, gaming niche.

You can probably tell I'm asking this question

In case you didn't get it, no one seems to really view my video and I heard shorts is a good way to promote your channel/get tons of views.

But I'm worried because I heard shorts viewers aren't really long-term subscribers or something along those words.

If you're a long-form creator who has tried shorts, please, share your experience!

Any drawbacks or benefits?

Should people like me just go for it?
