Why Deltarune’s Chapter 5 ending is even more sad than it is.

I forgot where i saw this (Probably on YT) but imma post it on here to see y’all’s thoughts.

Obviously, the most recent ending is sad in the sense of Susie’s only place she calls home is an imaginary world in a school closet.

However, let’s this about Kris and the meaning of this final chapter:

1. Kris’s feelings for Susie
At this point in the story, Kris obviously likes Susie, however, probably due to their character, they doesn’t express those feelings/is afraid to (They are shown to be secretive with their feelings and emotions throughout the game through specific actions of closing their eyes when made to look at uncomfortable things, closing their mouth when we tell them to say what’s on his mind, etc)

2. Kris’s development from childhood
As a child, Kris was described to be a troublemaker. However they were also shown to once be a very clingy and jealous person. For example, we all know that Kris is very close with their brother, and one time, when Asriel went with Dess into the Ferris wheel, he would throw dirt at the window to disrupt their time together out of jealousy.
Now, in present times, however, Kris is obviously a little jealous of Noelle getting together with Susie, however they have obviously become more mature over the years and learned to not be as much. And also, what I think he wants is for Susie is for her to be happy.

3. The sad truth about the chapter 5 dark world
With all of this combined, it answers a few questions of chapter 5’s dark world, such as why it is practically the same layout (And practically exact same starting area). It’s because Kris wanted to remind themselves of where it all started with Susie and relish in the simpler times (It was them who made the world after all).

4. Getting Noelle involved
This was the final straw for Kris in terms of jealously. With Susie getting Noelle involved with “Their thing”, this represents the last thing Kris and Susie had together on their own getting ripped away from him and they are torn as a result.
