I did a post like this for openings, but this is just in general:

1. "Part of Your World (Reprise)" is just so epic. And for the millionth time, as every Disney fan points out: THIS is the song that she sang about Eric. The original, full song that's used the most was done before she met him or thought about romance.

2. "Reflection" is one of the greatest "I Want" songs Disney ever made. While I regret Stephen Schwartz being kicked off of "Mulan," I do love the music Matthew Wilder and David Zippel gave us--I just wish we got more, including a reprise of "Reflection" with Shang and Mulan.

3. Say what you will about "Pocahontas"; I have things I enjoy about it, the music being one of them. I maintain that "If I Never Knew You" is Disney's greatest romantic duet, due to the fact that it's not just "I found love," but the bittersweet aspect of losing love. No love song Disney's made (romantically) has come close for me.

4. While I do think "Snuff Out the Light" suffers a bit in aspects of feeling too Broadway/jazzy and taking me out of the Indigenous Andean setting, it is a very catchy song--and honestly the only song I like from "Kingdom of the Sun." If Disney ever revives the film, I hope they keep this song, or at least try to edit it rather than removing it entirely.

5. "Never Knew I Needed" is my favorite end credits song for a Disney song. I really wish they'd given it to Naveen to sing about Tiana, especially since the ONLY love song we hear a guy sing that isn't a duet is Kristoff's "Lost in the Woods" (and the context of it makes it SO frustrating).

6. "Know Who You Are" is one of the best final songs I've heard in a musical. It's so profound and powerful. I actually have a lot of respect that this isn't simply a reprisal song. While I do think the duality message feels clunky, by itself the song is glorious.

7. I maintain "The Next Right Thing" supremacy over "Show Yourself" supremacy because we don't get enough sad songs--though neither song was gonna be campaigned due to being spoiler-y (which is good; a song should be contextual and not be something that's vague, as per the increasing radio-ification of Disney musicals). A song about actually losing someone and having the strength to pick yourself up was WILD timing since this came out right before COVID.
