**Lefty Gunplay was arrested Saturday morning in Springfield, Missouri, less than 12 hours after performing in the city Friday night.**

The Baldwin Park, California rapper, whose real name is Franklin Holladay, was booked by Springfield Police and listed as being held for **fourth-degree assault**, according to jail records and local reporting.

Details surrounding the alleged incident remain limited. Authorities had not publicly identified another person involved or explained what led to the arrest when the initial reports surfaced. Local reporting also noted that online court records did not yet show formal charges as of Saturday night.

The arrest comes during one of the biggest stretches of Lefty Gunplay's career.

Lefty gained national attention after appearing on **Kendrick Lamar's “tv off”** from *GNX*, putting another spotlight on the Baldwin Park rapper as Los Angeles and West Coast hip-hop experienced a renewed mainstream run.

Since then, Lefty has continued releasing music, touring and building his profile outside Southern California.

The Missouri arrest adds another legal situation to that momentum. Lefty was previously arrested in El Paso in February 2025 and again outside Rolling Loud California the following month, where the arrest caused him to miss his scheduled performance.
