The Outside In
Just to get this out of the way, I’m a big fan of The Outsiders. I know a lot of the backgrounds and neat little facts behind the scenes. I also love listening to the soundtrack. I’ve also made a post about this previously, but never in depth. I’m also not allowed to post in the lost media subreddit because I don’t have enough karma, so I’m posting it here instead. so if you’re a lost media and an Outsiders nerd, I need your help🙏
Now, when I first listened to it, I noticed a song titled “The Outside in”. I listened to it, and personally, I loved it a lot. When I went to do research about it, I realized that I could not find anything about the song. I checked reddit, YouTube, Wikipedia, and more and still left the search empty handed. I’ve never searched or posted anything in the lost media subreddit, but I felt like this was my only shot at finding the origin and background of this.
my best guess is that it’s some sort of song made for trailers or something that was meant for theatrical project in some way (like end credits) but was scrapped completely but thrown into the soundtrack anyway. I definitely recommend listening to it first to help judge my thoughts.
I will also say that the song is available on anywhere the entire soundtrack is available. I saw it on Apple but I’m pretty sure it’s on other streaming platforms. all I know was that Bill Hughes was involved and that it’s still available on anywhere the soundtrack is on. I’ve been trying to find the origins for a couple months now, so any help is absolutely appreciated.
