Week 2 of a $24.99 POD shop: a TIL hit 175k views, shirts sold are still one (mine)
I sell unisex tees with one statistic on the chest. Some are real and cited. Some I invented. Every shirt is labeled TRUE, SADLY / FAKE, PROUDLY / TRUE-ISH. The disclosure is the product.
Stack: Next.js on Cloudflare Workers. Catalog is JSON in git. Stripe Checkout. $24.99. S–3XL. Buy 2, shipping is free. Blended GP about $15.88 so max CAC is about $6.23. No ads.
What happened:
- Checkout works. I bought Professional Napper (black/XL) on 17 Aug. $30.98 with $5.99 shipping. Stripe paid me $29.78. That is still the only order.
- SideProject build post is up.
- shutupandtakemymoney removed a product post. Rule 14, no t-shirts. I will not do that again.
- todayilearned: cattle vs sharks, Snopes, no shop URL. About 175k views and ~2k upvotes. Zero shirts from it. The post was a fact. There was no door.
Honest question: after a fact post that big, do you harvest it with a chart in a different sub, or leave it alone so the account does not turn into a merch farm?
I will stay in comments. Economics, why no ads, why the TIL had no link. Shop is random-stats.com if anyone asks.
