Whiterock pier fishing lure

I’ve gone to whiterock pier a couple times now at night and every single time I’ve seen Asian’s fishing there and they’re always catching something. Just wondering what they use for lure . Any idea ?

Btw I’ve tried asking but Dey don’t seem to friendly and always play they “ I don’t understand English “ card.
