Why didn’t zombie children make a comeback in the second game?

I feel like my favorite part about the first game were the zombie children as it added a nice different enemy type, i can understand not wanting to show them getting dismembered and such but i guess i just hate when games/movies make children nonexistent or immortal gods that can never die. What are your opinions on it?
