Used Mazda3 more expensive relative to mileage/age than new?
I previously owned a 2005 Mazda 6 with 215k miles on it before recently being totaled while parked on a street :( Ive been looking into the mazda 3, and it seems that all of the prices online for private as well as dealers are way higher than they should be. For their prices, they’re almost valuing the cars relative to mileage at more than they were MSRP.
I’m stuck in a dilemma. I wanted to pay around $20k for a 3 or 6 with 50k or less miles. However, I’m just not finding that anywhere. The used private car market is terrible, and the used dealer market is of course no better. With the current prices and brand new mazda3 being ~$25k+, do I just go for it and buy new?
It will be my first new car purchase, so I’m a bit nervous. I had eyes on a newer Impreza and am backing out due to transmission concerns for the future (with their CVT). I also have looked at used accords and they’re just way too much right now. I’d love to stay with Mazda if I know it’s worth it. Any advice helps.
