Help me choose

i’m actually from electronics and instrumentation engineering currently in 7th sem right now aiming for Gate 2027
and i’m thinking of writing gate for electronics and communications paper
is it a good idea? or should i just stick to my instrumentation paper
considering that i want to be in the domain of vlsi
