Man is Wolf to Man

Man is worse than an animal when he is an animal

Why?

Why?

Why?

Why do some do this?

What drives someone to forsake their humanity like this?

To pursue complete terror on both fronts?

What does it take to don the golden mask?

Even the veil I’m supposed to call “friend”, adorned with crosses to make a mockery of my “enemies”

Oh how they both see me

\*\*Crumble\*\*

The ceilings, \*\*crumble\*\*, to crush the mighty Rooks once more,

My spirit, \*\*crumble\*\*, as the Lancer raises my comrades‘ corpses on his pike and roars,

My strength, \*\*crumble\*\*, as I await the Mortician’s aid to prolong my fight another day,

My hope, \*\*crumble\*\*, as the noble Vanguard is slain in front of trembling Privates,

My duty, \*\*crumble\*\*, as the Officer orders yet another suicide charge without ever stepping forwar,

My heart, \*\*crumble\*\*, as the Soldats raise their rifles for the last time,

My camaraderie, \*\*crumble\*\*, as the Jaeger cleans the bones from his Mantrap to use once more,

But worst of all,

The Geist

As \*\*It\*\* lies in wait, whispering promises of slaughter in my ear

It calls itself a Geist

But its namesake is not a spirit, lurking unseen

But my soul, having long vacated these horrid caves
