Worried - Pregnancy after PUL
I had a PUL (suspected ectopic but never found) in March 2026. It resolved on its own and my HCG fell on its own. This is despite the fact that my HCG numbers were never that good to begin with (the earliest being 50,86,127,336.. then it got better until it didn’t). It got up to 1302 after which it plateaud for a couple of days and then started falling.
Now this time around, my HCG numbers look good so far and have an approximately 30 hour doubling time. I was at 1366 yesterday. However since the very start of this pregnancy, I am having period-like cramps and pain on the left side which shifts sometimes to my leg or hip bone. The pain largely goes away when I am walking or upright. The period-like cramps come and go 2-3 times a day. I am terrified of an ectopic. It may be my corpus luteam or a muscular pain but I’m just not sure.
My husband says we should go in for an early scan (hoping the hcg would be 2000+) to determine location so we can relax till a later ultrasound. ChatGPT says to wait. I also have PCOS so I don’t even know how far along I am. I had my first faintest positive on CD 44 so I think LMP would not be a good dating metric for me.
Should I go in tomorrow? I don’t mind a transvaginal ultrasound but I don’t want to go through the panic of going too early, not seeing anything, and then spiralling because I already overthink A LOT.
