People are pretty great

People are generally pretty great in day to day life, despite basically so much news and online stuff telling us the opposite, and much based on politics. But people are generally super cool, smiles and chats (American here), courteous, conscientious, and yeah there are a few terrible drivers but very few among many, etc etc. When they aren't cool, everybody notices and complains -- which is good evidence that being a jerk is not the norm. I'm pretty sure this is an unpopular opinion but happy if it's not.
