Faucet finishes: is the fancy stuff worth it

I’m talking about delta’s brilliance pvd finish and their spot free finishes or luminescence coating that prevents corrosion etc. it’d be stainless or the brushed gold or Champaign bronze. You can get them standard with just the pvd finish or you can not have pvd and get spot free. Good lord. Is it all just a bunch of overpriced hype or do these finishes actually improve longevity.
