Do troops promoted to ELITE's get the XP for surviving / performing Glorious Deeds in the same game they are promoted?

Wondering as technically promotions are done before XP is assigned, so they would become ELITE's before XP assignment and thus be eligible for ELITE's that survive / perform glorious deeds gaining XP. But I'm unsure if that's right.
