Title: Atomberg Intellon vs exchange to another purifier , what would you choose?

I ended up with an Atomberg Intellon through an exchange where I was essentially pushed into taking the demo/display unit. I now have the option to exchange it for another purifier at ₹0 additional cost.

I'm trying to decide whether to keep the Intellon or use the free exchange to move to another brand/model with better long-term ownership and service.

My situation:

  • I live in a Tier-2 town in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Municipal water TDS: ~330 ppm
  • Borewell water TDS: ~713 ppm
  • We use both sources, so the input water varies.
  • I sometimes need hot/lukewarm drinking water, so hot + ambient dispensing is useful.
  • My sister is a recent cancer survivor, so we're being particularly careful about everyday drinking-water hygiene and avoiding preventable contamination. I'm not looking for medical claims—just a purifier/storage setup that is as hygienic and reliable as reasonably possible.
  • I'm therefore slightly inclined toward a stainless-steel storage tank, especially if combined with in-tank UV, but I don't know whether this is actually a meaningful advantage in real-world use.
  • I care more about water safety, tank hygiene, serviceability, reliability and 3–5 year ownership than the number of purification stages.
  • The exchange is completely free, so I'm open to switching if there is a genuinely better option.

What I want to know:

  1. With 330 TDS municipal + 713 TDS borewell, is Atomberg Intellon's adaptive RO/UF/UV approach a meaningful advantage?
  2. Is the food-grade plastic storage tank something I should genuinely be concerned about, or is proper maintenance more important than the material?
  3. Is stainless steel + in-tank UV actually a meaningful hygiene improvement in real-world use?
  4. Most importantly, how is Atomberg's after-sales service in Tier-2 towns in Andhra Pradesh? Has anyone had a pump, sensor, PCB, membrane or other failure and actually got it repaired/replaced without a prolonged struggle?
  5. Which brands have given you the best service experience in smaller Andhra Pradesh towns?
  6. If you had a free exchange from an Atomberg Intellon, would you keep it or exchange it?
  7. If you would exchange it, which exact model would you choose and why?

I'm particularly looking for real owner experiences after 1–3 years, especially regarding service, spare-parts availability, filter/membrane costs, tank hygiene and recurring problems.

Please don't recommend something just because it has more stages, alkaline/copper features or a bigger brand name. I'm interested in what actually matters for long-term ownership.

TL;DR: I have an Atomberg Intellon obtained through an exchange/demo situation, and I can exchange it for another purifier for ₹0. My water is 330 TDS municipal + 713 TDS borewell. My sister is a recent cancer survivor, so we're being extra careful about drinking-water hygiene, and I'm slightly inclined toward stainless-steel storage + in-tank UV, although I don't know how important that really is. I also sometimes need hot/lukewarm water. For people with 1–3 years of actual ownership, would you keep the Intellon or exchange it? If exchanging, which exact model would you choose, particularly considering service/reliability in Tier-2 towns in Andhra Pradesh?
