Kernel 7.1.5-76070105-generic won't switch to gpu

Think I've had this happen before where my laptop won't switch over to the gpu. Think my drivers were uninstalled that one time but I checked drivers, it seems to be switchable, and neofetch at the very least prints that my 4060 max-q is detected. However, I'm still unable to get it to switch to the nvidia card even with a reboot. Reverting back to the previous kernal version fixes the issue. Profile is set to Performance. Fully updated and upgraded. Latest nvidia drivers installed, 24.04.22~1787059990~24.04~78d6358.
