After the 2024 playoffs Mark Vientos should have told the Mets give me an 8 years $72 million deal. I think the Mets coming off that playoff hot streak and season from Vientos would agree to lock him up for just $9 million per. Sometimes it pays to bet AGAINST Yourself

Not sure if Mets would have agreed to this deal but at the time Vientos was a hot stud and I just remember thinking to myself wow I'm sure he is going to want a lot of $$$$ in the future but if that was me I'm trying to cash in Right now just in case this was a fluke.

But even if it was a fluke and Mets suspected it was a fluke how do you not sign him for that long for just $72 million total?? it's just 9 million per year for Cohen that's pocket change

These players like to bet on themself and try to make $150 or $200 million

Sometimes it's smart to bet AGAINST yourself and lock up the money coming off a very hot and potentially Fluke season
