norethindrone help

through the process of getting approved to go on T, i met with a bunch of different doctors and shit yada yada yada whatever
i met with either a gyno or an endo or Something i honestly can't remember it's been so many appointments that i genuinely do not care about and she prescribed me norethindrone to stop my periods before i start T
(i'm 17 btw)
originally, i saw a different endo to look at birth control/period stopping methods(??) but my mom and i agreed that i shouldn't start them because i didn't want the side effects or my mom advised me against because she had taken them before and reacted really badly to (i.e. bleeding on an iud for 3 months straight, same thing with some other birth controls). i'm not sexually active so that wasn't a concern of mine either. plus i already have irregular periods (like thrice a year) that were pretty light so it wasn't anything that gave me dysphoria or pain
tldr i didnt wanna start any kind of medication to stop my period
but this lady just kept pushing. i explained that i really wasn't great at taking medications daily (i'm on like 4 separate meds and already struggle with those) so even the safer/milder options weren't gonna cut it for me.
she said she prescribed it to almost if not all of her transmasc patients and it's really common to do. she also explained that my period might not stop on T but again I don't really see that being an issue due to how little I already got it
anyways i caved and i had her prescribe it to me, and i've been bleeding for a month and a half straight. i've upped my dose to a pill and a half like she said. then two. still nothing. i've taken it every single day like prescribed. this is the worst pain i've ever felt in my life. it worked for the very first week and then immediately i was in the splash zone
i messaged her about it and she hasn't really gotten back to me yet. i just want this hell to end. should i stop taking it? will there be side effects if i do? are there any other side effects to this medication that i may not notice yet? is anyone else taking this? i need advice on what to do but i'm also curious as to what experience you guys have with this
