Is this worth it anymore?
I’m about to start my second year in a Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s program, specializing in child/adolescent counseling. I’ve wanted to work with children and adolescents for years, so this is a career path I’ve genuinely been excited about. Recently, however, I’ve been questioning whether it’s worth it financially long-term
As a single woman, financial stability & being able to comfortably support myself is crucial. I know you don’t go into therapy to get rich, but I don’t want to struggle financially or feel like I’m constantly living paycheck to paycheck
For those who are practicing therapists, especially in child/adolescent counseling, do you feel like the career is financially worth it? If you could go back, would you still choose this path? I’d really appreciate honest opinions, even if they’re not what I want to hear!
