A Shift in Perspective: Ep 10. Closing the Gospel of Matthew (Just a Salaried Worker)
A Shift in Perspective: Ep 10. Closing the Gospel of Matthew (Just a Salaried Worker)
The writings from Ep 1 through 9 are my own thoughts after reading the Gospel of Matthew, based on my small personal experience.
I, too, am an ordinary salaried worker who, like those in the faith test of Ep 2, has no desire to practice even the first stage.
However, I simply acknowledge that fact, and continue to repeat the cycle of practice and failure, making the effort nonetheless.
Having lived for over forty years in this dualistic world, I think it is only natural that changing the habitual patterns of thought I have formed — whatever they may be called: values, worldview, paradigm, or the unconscious — requires an equivalent amount of time and cost.
Because I do not have the courage to stake my life as Jesus and Buddha did, I simply continue walking that path steadily — as the next best option, following their teaching.
In any case, since the principles and flow of mental activity that I wished to share have all been introduced in Ep 1 through 9, I do not think there is any new story to tell beyond that.
However, as I began posting on Substack, the writing began to feel like a series, and so I mentioned Genesis as a service to readers who have been following along.
I am a salaried worker, so I do not have much time. ^^;;
And the Bible is a very long text.
Furthermore, since it was written in ancient languages and has been translated many times, a great deal of time is needed to read and understand it.
I, too, had to look up the ancient original texts whenever I encountered something I could not understand while reading Matthew. (With the help of AI, of course.)
And I also had to learn about the historical, social, and cultural background of that era in order to understand it. (Again, with the help of AI.)
Of course, this does not mean that my understanding is correct.
It simply means that this is how I understood it.
In any case, because reading and understanding the Bible requires considerable time and effort, I used AI to quickly analyze the Bible according to my own perspective, for the sake of convenience and efficiency.
I then reviewed and revised the results myself, and since I do not know English, I translated them again using AI.
In any case, from my perspective, the Old Testament — beginning with Genesis — appears to repeat the same pattern of mental flow without reaching completion, until it is finally brought to completion by Jesus in the New Testament, in the Gospel of Matthew.
The Old Testament writings that follow are not new stories, but rather repetitions of the same pattern of mental activity and flow.
Since the heart of what I have to say lies in the Sermon on the Mount and the Gospel of Matthew, you are welcome to read what follows — or not.
I just keep going — for the fun of it.
The AI analysis turns out to be quite fascinating.
Let me guide you into that perspective.
※Note: The following link is provided to help readers understand what is meant by “is repeated.”
[Content of the link]
To help you understand what I mean by "repetition," let me briefly explain.
If you look at the principles and flow of mental activity in the Sermon on the Mount, and then at the newly published Genesis Ep 1 through Ep 7, you may notice the same flow of the mind — from discrimination to rest — repeating itself.
And as shown below, the pattern appears once again.
In my view, this repetition continues throughout the Old Testament and seems to reach its completion in the Gospel of Matthew.
I am not a Christian, and the only part of the Bible I have actually read is the Gospel of Matthew. Yet this is precisely why I find the AI analysis so fascinating.
Of course, this does not mean that it is correct.
It is simply how things appear from my perspective.
.
.
A person born of the earth (Adam)
lays the foundation anew (Seth),
comes to recognize his own weakness (Enosh),
and mourns with lamentation (Kenan).
Then he comes to praise God (Mahalalel),
and God descends to this lowly place (Jared),
walking alongside him and consecrating his life (Enoch).
Withholding judgment and showing great patience (Methuselah),
through a life of toil and labor (Lamech),
he finally comes to true rest (Noah).
.
.
If you follow the Hebrew meanings of the names of the figures, the flow of mental activity becomes visible.

[Original Text]
Ep 10.
난 월급쟁이라 시간이 많지 않습니다.^^;;
